The following samples are projects I designed in VIS 207: Introduction to Graphic Design. The designs include a Social Media project for LoveShackFancy and a Scroll Story project regarding the Marshall Islands.

Social Media Project

This project focused on creating a social media post for LoveShackFancy that combines the brand’s soft, floral identity with sustainability. My concept came from wanting to portray their aesthetic while also highlighting their commitment to the environment through the idea of “blooming,” as seen in the title “Where Sustainability Blooms.” Throughout the project, I used florals, lace, and brand imagery to connect fashion and the environment, while also applying motion to show transformation, such as elements blooming or the Earth changing from grey to color to represent positive environmental impact. I also used Gestalt principles like proximity and continuation to create flow and help organize information so viewers can easily understand the message. All in all, this project helped me become more comfortable using Photoshop, as I learned how to use many different features through class and while designing my post.

Scroll Story Project

This project focused on creating a scroll-based story about the impact of climate change on the Marshall Islands to raise awareness and create an emotional connection with users. My concept centered on showing a country gradually disappearing through scrolling visuals and imagery, targeting college students and young adults who may be aware of climate change but not fully understand its real-world effects. To enhance user experience, I incorporated interactive elements like an infographic slideshow, navigation to different sections, and a “Get Involved” page that encourages action and provides additional resources. I structured the content into sections that unfold as users scroll, creating a more engaging and controlled flow. Overall, this project taught me the importance of designing with the user in mind, and how layout, interaction, and storytelling work together to create a clear, meaningful digital experience.
